The Fairmount Street Department consists of two employees: Superintendent Richard Haynes and Keith Royal.

The Street Department provides many essential services for the town which include:

Street Sweeping:

The following streets are swept on Thursdays between the hours of 7am and 3pm weather permitting. The streets are posted and a $25.00 fine is imposed for parking during those hours.

Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Main, Mill, Penn, Sycamore, Walnut, First, Seward, Circle Dr, Kelsu.

Yard Waste:
Yard waste is picked up on Mondays and Fridays, starting at 7am. The yard waste must be placed in paper bags, paper yard refuse bags, or small cardboard boxes. No plastic bags will be allowed. All bags, limbs and sticks must be placed at the edge of the street in the grass. If you have hired someone to trim your trees or shrubs they must clean up the trimmings.

Limbs that are downed during storms will be picked up at the curb. Rule of Thumb if you can’t pick the limb up, then the street department employees can’t either.

Leaves are picked up in the fall; watch the Fairmount News-Sun for details.

*You can reach the Street Department by calling 948-4600 and leaving a message. Someone will get back with you as soon as possible.
